THERAPEUTIC YOGA @ Personal-best Bodywork
Personal-best Bodywork offers an interdisciplinary approach to yoga that places the highest value on exploring the very roots of yogic inquiry. Whether you are an athlete, have back pain or injury, or just want to delve into your yoga practice, Personal-best has the experience you’re looking for. When your understanding and insights into yoga are grounded in your own experience, you will have a foundation for life-long learning–wherever your curiosity takes you.
Yoga is very much about the whole person. We take a holistic approach by taking into consideration that (back) pain may also be related to an emotional component, lifestyle, or physical movement patterns.
Techniques used to address your whole person include pranayama, asanas, and meditation. Classes are taught in private, duets or small three person group sessions, addressing specific health issues and modifying poses accordingly. Patients will leave with a better understanding of how their body should move in each pose and in activities of daily living. Private patient sessions may receive (if desired) specific instructions on a custom vinyasa for home practice and will change based on one’s progression.
Yoga promotes relaxation and well-being; it can ease pain in areas of tension, and even prevent stress, further injury, and unnecessary surgery or medication. We believe that yoga is an essential element to your wellness program.
